Our Story

Laser Focused technologies Corporation now owns LSP Technologies with all its intellectual properties. LSP Technologies (LSPT) was founded in 1995 to commercialize laser peening for metal fatigue resistance. Our engineers pioneered the laser peening process at Battelle Memorial Institute, and helped the United States Air Force solve critical fatigue problems on titanium fan blades in the B-1 bomber.

LSPT designed and built the world’s first laser peening equipment, and remains the only company in the world selling, installing, and integrating comprehensive laser peening systems into customer facilities.

Over the past 24 years, LSP Technologies has been providing laser peening equipment, job-shop services, and production processing for a wide range of industries. Our list of satisfied customers includes major international aerospace and power generation OEMs, high-performance racing companies, tooling and die manufacturers, and more.

LSPT holds over sixty patents for innovations in laser-based materials processing, and our experts have published numerous definitive articles in peer-reviewed journals around the world.

LSP Technologies is headquartered in Dublin, Ohio. Our production facility incorporates AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Assurance to provide the highest quality services and equipment.

Mohammad Bhuiyan, Ph.D. Founder, President and CEO

Experience and Background

Mohammad Bhuiyan, an economist with a Ph.D., has established himself as a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader, guiding numerous startups to remarkable success. His involvement with TiE Atlanta Board, a premier global entrepreneurship organization, and his leadership role in organizing three major global annual summits on entrepreneurship and innovations demonstrate his deep understanding of the technology sector and his ability to navigate complex business landscapes. His expertise in leadership, customer service, marketing, finance, public relations, and strategic direction, honed through his work with Fortune 500 CEOs, top-ranking military officers, high-level government officials, and successful entrepreneurs, will be instrumental in steering the Laser Focused Technologies Corporation towards sustainable growth and market dominance.

Dr. Bhuiyan has over three decades of executive-level experience across academia, business, and nonprofits. He earned his Ph.D. in economics and trade from the University of Florida in 1993, supplemented by leadership training from Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, Harvard Business School, Stanford University, and MIT.

His exceptional contributions led to inclusion in Who’s Who in America (Millennium edition) and Who’s Who in the World. The Atlanta Business Chronicle recognized him as one of “The 100 Most Influential Atlantans of 2014,” and Georgia Trend Magazine named him a “Notable Georgian” in 2015. Having resided, worked, and traveled across over sixty countries on six continents, Dr. Bhuiyan’s international presence enriches his collaboration with notable global leaders.

Enam Chowdhury, Ph.D. Founder and Chief Technology Officer

What I Do

As Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Enam Chowdhury provides leadership in all technological aspects of Laser Focused Technology Corporation, including engineering, new product development, project management, and operational excellence.

Experience and Background

Enam Chowdhury, a renowned laser physicist with a Ph.D., has garnered global recognition for his groundbreaking contributions to laser technology. His collaboration with the 2023 Nobel Prize winner in Physics and his pivotal role in developing “SCARLET,” one of the world’s largest lasers, solidify his position as a leading expert in the field. His ongoing work on revolutionary patents, poised to transform industrial and medical applications, further underscores his unwavering commitment to innovation and his ability to push the boundaries of technological advancement. His extensive experience as an advisor, consultant and project lead for the US Air Force Research Lab, the European Union’s Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) projects, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL)and the Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE), among others, further demonstrates his expertise and influence in the field.

General Larry Ellis (US Army Ret.) Chief Strategic/Military Advisor

General Larry Ellis was the highest-ranking officer of African ancestry in the U.S. Army as of his retirement in 2004, and was the fourth black individual to become a four-star general. He was born in 1946 in Cambridge, Maryland, and attended Morgan State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science. On February 5, 1969, he became a second lieutenant. Ellis received his Master’s of Science in Physical Education from Indiana University in 1975. He had an extensive military education, including Infantry Officer Basic courses in 1969 at Fort Benning, Georgia, and Infantry Officer Advanced courses in 1974. In 1979 he attended Armed Forces Staff College, and the United States Army War College in 1986.

The second black General to hold the position, after General Colin Powell, Ellis was the Commanding General of the United States Army Forces Command beginning November 19, 2001. Over the course of his career, Ellis coordinated training programs, strategic plans for the Army, as well as programs that lasted for multiple years.

General Ellis has received many military awards, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Army Distinguished Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, NATO Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. Ellis also received a number of awards, including an Honorary Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, an Honorary Doctor of Law from Morgan State University, and the NAACP National Service Award.

After his retirement from the U.S. Army in 2004, General Ellis held several leadership positions in business including CEO and founder of Ellis Services & Solutions Enterprises. He has served on the Board of Directors of SRA, Armed Forces Benefit Association, UNITECH, as well as DHB Industries, Inc. He became the president of DHB Industries, Inc. in 2005, and in July 2006 he was named CEO.
